AlbaCore Capital Group, a European credit specialist, has promoted its newly-hired head of research to partner.
Davide Chiesa is head of research, a recently created role he took on when he joined AlbaCore in 2024 in which he leads the investment team’s credit research analysis.

Before joining AlbaCore, Chiesa spent more than two decades in European leveraged finance, most recently at CQS, where he served as a portfolio manager and head of European credit research.
He previously held senior analyst roles with Morgan Stanley, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Societe Generale.
In his short time at AlbaCore, Chiesa has bolstered the team’s research capabilities, “significantly enhancing the quality of investment ideas”, according to the firm.
The investment team is poised to play a key role as the firm develops its range of products.
This includes targeting specific parts of corporates’ capital structures, from the senior direct lending strategy, to third party collateralized loan obligations tranches and private capital solutions.

“Davide has been instrumental in deepening the capabilities of our investment team and fostering greater idea generation,” said David Allen, managing partner and chief investment officer at AlbaCore.
“As AlbaCore continues to grow, Davide will play an essential role driving our investment outcomes and overall strategy.”
Chiesa joined AlbaCore to deepen the firm’s investment team leadership and enhance its existing suite of credit analysis across the platform, said Matthew Courey, partner, president and chief operating officer at AlbaCore.
“His promotion to partner is a reflection of the excellent progress he’s made in a short period of time, his demonstration of AlbaCore Values, and the essential nature of his team’s work to our future growth,” he added.
In addition to naming Chiesa as Partner, AlbaCore promoted 17 team members across functions, as part of its commitment to cultivating talent and fostering an environment that facilitates career growth and progress.
